The Haitian Revolution (1791-1804)
This is the only slave rebellion that lead to the creation of a new state. Slaves in the French colony of Saint-Dominique rebelled against France and created what we now know as the Republic of Haiti.

Bacon's Rebellion (1676)
Nathaniel Bacon lead one thousand Virginians in the first documented rebellion in the American colonies. They rebelled against Governor William Berkeley because he didn't fight back when the Native Americans attacked the colonists. They lead their own attack against the Indians, drove Berkeley out of Jamestown, and torched the capitol.
